E:Jules, just look at this amazing painting.

E:朱爾斯，過來看看這幅畫，真令人叫絕。

 

J： It is amazing, but what is it exatly?

J：真的太讓人驚訝了，不過這究竟畫的是什么？

 

E: It's a Picasso! The style you are looking at is called "Cubism", it does look kind of strange, I must admit.

E:是畢加索的畫！你看到的這種風(fēng)格叫立體派，我得承認(rèn)確實(shí)看起來有點(diǎn)古怪。

 

J: Yes, strange but beautiful. What's it called?

J：是的，有點(diǎn)怪但很漂亮。這幅畫叫什么名字？

 

E: Let me see .... this one is Les Demoiselles de Avignon, painted in 1907.

E:我看看……叫：《亞威農(nóng)的少女》，畫于1907年。

 

J: 1907? That's one hundred years ago, but his work looks so modem!

J：1907年？那是l00年前了，可是他的作品看起來那么現(xiàn)代！

 

E: Well. he was born in 1881 , so I guess all of his pieces are old.  Did you know he created over 20, 000 paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, theatre sets and costumes?

E：的確是。畢加索生于1881年，所以我想他所有的作品都是年代很久遠(yuǎn)的口他創(chuàng)作了20，000多幅油畫，還有版畫、素描、雕刻、陶藝．舞臺(tái)設(shè)計(jì)和服裝，你知道這些嗎？

 

J: He muse have lived to be a very old man to do all of that during his life.

J：他一定是畢生都在創(chuàng)作，而且很長(zhǎng)壽。

 

E: He died when he was 92, so he had a long life, yes.

E:他去世時(shí)是92歲，壽命是很長(zhǎng)。

 

J: I heard he was a bit of a womaniser, he had many girlfriends, who he often painted and had many children.

J：我聽說他很風(fēng)流，有很多女朋友，經(jīng)常為她們作畫，還有很多孩子。

 

E: Yes, that's true. But I chink he only married twice. His true love was a lady called Jacqueline, who he married in 1961 By then he was already 79 years old!

E:是的，確實(shí)如此。但是我認(rèn)為他只結(jié)過兩次婚。他真正愛的是一個(gè)叫杰奎琳的女子。他們?cè)?961年結(jié)婚，那時(shí)他已經(jīng)79歲了。

 

J: Oh, yes, I have heard of her, he painted something for her.  I remember reading that in a magazine.

E: In the painting he was a faun. calmly and coolly gazing with mature confidence and wisdom at a nymph who blows her instrument to the stars.

J: So, the picture embraces his spellbound love for Jacqueline. How romantic !

E: That one was called Faun and Starry Night, he painted it in 1955 before they got married. Look, it's here in the book.

J: Yes, that’s the one! I know that one, but what’s this one? It says it was painted in 1929.

J：是的，就是這個(gè)，我知道這畫。那這幅是什么？土面說畫于1929年。

 

E: This one is called Nude Standing by the Sea, this one is very strange！

E:這幅畫叫《在海濱的女人》，非常與眾不同！

 

J: Look at her body, all the shapes are wrong, It is very striking though.

E: This is called " Surrealist Imagery" , where he distorted figures and morphed them together. He started it during the 1920s.

E:這叫做超現(xiàn)實(shí)主義肖像，他扭曲了人的外形，然后再把它們組合在一起。他是從20世紀(jì)20年代開始創(chuàng)作這種作品的。

 

J: Well, it may be strange, but I like it. I think that Picasso must have been a real genius.

【背景介紹】

畢加索，西班牙畫家、雕塑家。法國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨黨員。是現(xiàn)代藝術(shù)的創(chuàng)始人，西方現(xiàn)代派繪畫的主要代表。他于1907年創(chuàng)作的《亞威農(nóng)少女》是第一 張被認(rèn)為有立體主義傾向的作品，是一幅具有里程碑意義的著名杰作。它不僅標(biāo)志著畢加索個(gè)人藝術(shù)歷程中的重大轉(zhuǎn)折，而且也是西方現(xiàn)代藝術(shù)史上的一次革命性突 破，引發(fā)了立體主義運(yùn)動(dòng)的誕生。這幅畫在以后的十幾年中竟使法國(guó)的立體主義繪畫得到空前的發(fā)展，甚至還波及到芭蕾舞、舞臺(tái)設(shè)計(jì)、文學(xué)、音樂等其他領(lǐng)域。 《亞威農(nóng)少女》開創(chuàng)了法國(guó)立體主義的新局面，畢加索與勃拉克也成了這一畫派的風(fēng)云人物。畢加索的立體主義是探索出光是螺旋狀照射的前身。他的抽象畫已經(jīng)基 本表現(xiàn)出太陽光是螺旋狀照射的了。如果大家都有這個(gè)認(rèn)知（光是螺旋狀照射的，就不難理解抽象畫作的疊加和分解了。）因?yàn)橛羞@一認(rèn)知，大家會(huì)改變過去對(duì)光線 是直射的這一錯(cuò)誤的認(rèn)識(shí)了。
